Our team in Dubai is preparing for the upcoming Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon. On the one hand, Kohler Dubai donated USD 500 to support the Wilson Associates team who will run in the 10-kilometer race for a good cause. On the other hand, the team decided to take to the streets themselves and will tackle the 4-kilometer Fun Run a bit later in the day.On 26 January 2018, Dubai will see the running community prepare for one of the most important marathons in the season. Kicking off the event on Umm Suqeim Road opposite the Madinat Jumeirah and beneath the Burj Al Arab with the wheelchair race at 6.00 a.m., it will be followed by the 42-kilometer marathon, the 10-kilometer Road Race, and finally with the 4-kilometer Fun Run.The Wilson Associates Team committed to run the 10-kilometer Road Race to raise funds and awareness for safe water and sanitation. Together we are supporting Surge for Water, a charity organization that is active in 11 countries and has helped more than 390,000 people by providing education and ways to safe water. The Kohler Dubai team has donated funds to support the runners morally and to help Surge for Water provide grassroots partnerships in rural and remote communities such as Uganda, Philippines, Dominican Republic, Haiti, India, Cambodia, and others, and for the empowerment of the local communities. When the 25,000+ runners from over 150 countries pound the streets of Dubai, many people around the world still have to walk many kilometers to the water wells to get just the essential amount of water necessary to feed and bath their families. The raised money from Wilson Associates’ charity activity at the Dubai marathon will entirely go to sustainable water and sanitation projects and will help raise the awareness of the global water crises.Raising awareness of the global water crisis and supporting initiatives to alleviate dirty and contaminated water is dear to Kohler associates’ heart as well. We work incessantly through our stewardship programs to support other organizations with the same mission.
